What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chicken Guy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Developer is required to indicate its independent ownership of the Franchised Restaurants in all public records, in relationships with other persons, and on letterheads and business forms. This means that when dealing with the public, other businesses, or creating official documents, the Developer must clearly state that they independently own and operate the Chicken Guy franchise as a franchisee.
This requirement ensures transparency and avoids any confusion about the relationship between the Developer and Chicken Guy. It clarifies that the Developer is not an agent, employee, or partner of Chicken Guy, but rather an independent business owner operating under the Chicken Guy brand. This distinction is important for legal and business purposes, as it defines the liabilities and responsibilities of each party.
By mandating this disclosure, Chicken Guy aims to protect its brand reputation and goodwill. It prevents the Developer from misrepresenting their relationship with Chicken Guy, which could potentially lead to legal or financial issues. Furthermore, the Developer is prohibited from issuing any press releases without prior written approval from Chicken Guy, ensuring that all public communications align with the brand's standards and messaging.
