Answer from 2025 FDD Document

The length of our initial manager training program averages four weeks to learn the required skills. We may increase or decrease the length of the initial manager training program at our discretion based upon your managers' prior restaurant experience and actual training success. We offer these training programs periodically during the year on an as-needed basis. The initial manager training program is scheduled so that it is completed sufficiently in advance of your Franchised Restaurant's initial opening to afford adequate time for the Franchised Restaurant set-up and the hiring and training of team members before the opening of the Franchised Restaurant. Currently, we do not charge a fee for the initial manager training program; however, you must pay all travel, living, food and other incidental expenses incurred by you and your employees while attending the training. We reserve the right to dismiss from the initial manager training program any person whom we do not believe will perform acceptably in the position for which he has been hired by you and you shall provide a suitable replacement within one month of such dismissal.

This initial manager training program is mandatory for all franchisees. The following chart summarizes the subjects taught during the initial manager training program in the operation of a Chicken Guy! Restaurant:

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chicken Guy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there is currently no fee for the initial manager training program. However, franchisees are responsible for covering all travel, living, food, and other incidental expenses incurred by themselves and their employees while attending the training. Chicken Guy retains the right to dismiss anyone from the training program who they believe will not perform acceptably, and the franchisee must provide a suitable replacement within one month of such dismissal. This initial manager training program is mandatory for all franchisees.

The initial manager training program is provided to share Chicken Guy's brand operating standards with trainees to protect the System and the Proprietary Marks and not to control the day to day operation of the Franchised Restaurant. The length of the initial manager training program averages four weeks to learn the required skills. Chicken Guy may increase or decrease the length of the initial manager training program at their discretion based upon the managers' prior restaurant experience and actual training success.

Chicken Guy also has the right to require that franchisees (or their Operating Principal), restaurant managers, and any other employees that they designate take and successfully complete other training courses in addition to the initial manager training program. Although Chicken Guy does not currently charge a tuition fee for these additional training programs, they may do so in the future. Chicken Guy also reserves the right to modify the elements of the initial manager training program and any additional training programs, in their sole discretion. Franchisees will be required to pay all travel, living, food and other incidental expenses incurred by them and their employees while attending any training program.

If a Chicken Guy franchisee operates two or more franchised Chicken Guy restaurants, within 90 days after they open their third Franchised Restaurant, they may request permission to establish one of their Franchised Restaurants as a Certified Training Restaurant at which they will offer the initial manager training program to their employees. Chicken Guy must certify the Franchised Restaurant as a CTR before training can begin there. Chicken Guy may periodically visit the CTR to ensure that it continues to meet their standards and they may revoke their certification if the CTR ceases to meet those standards.
