What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chick Fil A's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the licensed operating outlets for the Food Truck program, referred to as "Sales Locations," are situated at locations registered and approved through Chick-fil-A's Additional Distribution Point program. To secure approval for each instance of using the Food Truck, operators must complete and submit Chick-fil-A's current registration form, adhering to the company's policies and procedures for Food Trucks. The operation of the Food Truck for producing, selling, and distributing products is restricted to these pre-approved locations and during the hours specified in the registration form for each location.
This process ensures that Chick-fil-A maintains control over where its brand is represented and that each location meets its standards. The requirement for operators to obtain approval before commencing operations at any location is a crucial aspect of maintaining brand consistency and quality control. This also allows Chick-fil-A to manage potential market saturation and ensure that the Food Truck operations complement rather than compete with existing restaurant locations.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that they cannot simply set up the Food Truck anywhere they choose. They must follow a formal process to gain approval for each location, which could involve providing detailed information about the proposed site, expected customer traffic, and potential impact on existing Chick-fil-A restaurants. Understanding and adhering to these location approval procedures is essential for the successful operation of a Chick-fil-A Food Truck franchise.
