What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chick Fil A's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee in the Food Truck License Agreement is referred to as the "Operator". Chick-fil-A grants a limited license to the Operator to use and operate the Food Truck under specific terms and conditions outlined in both the Food Truck License Agreement and the existing Franchise Agreement. This license allows the Operator to conduct sales activities from the Food Truck as an extension of their existing Business.
This arrangement means that the Food Truck operation is not considered an independent franchise but rather an extension of the franchisee's current Chick Fil A business. The Operator's rights are non-exclusive, and no territorial rights are granted for sales locations. The Operator is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary regulatory approvals, licenses, and permits required for the Food Truck's operation.
Chick Fil A retains significant control over the Food Truck Program, including modifications to the system and menu. The Operator acknowledges the risks associated with the Food Truck Program's developmental stage and agrees to bear the risk of its success or failure. The Operator must also adhere to all covenants and obligations under the original Franchise Agreement, which remains in full effect.
