In the Chick Fil A Food Truck License Agreement, who are the parties involved in the agreement?
Chick_Fil_A Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
If Chick-fil-A offers to the Operator a license to operate a Food Truck, which Chick-fil-A is not obligated to do, Chick-fil-A and the Operator will enter into a written license agreement pursuant to which Chick-fil-A licenses the operation of the Food Truck, and the Operator accepts the license and agrees to faithfully perform the Operator's obligations with regard to the Food Truck (the "Food Truck License Agreement"). Any Food
Truck licensed by Chick-fil-A to the Operator under this Agreement is an extension and part of the Operator's Business(es) and not a separate Restaurant or Business.
To the extent Chick-fil-A leases the Food Truck from a third party and then grants Operator a sublease to occupy and use the food truck, Chick-fil-A and Operator will enter into a Food Truck License and Sublease Agreement that includes provisions providing for Chick-fil-A to license the right to use and operate the Food Truck as part of the Businesses and for Chick-fil-A to sublease the right to use and occupy the Food Truck to Operator (the "Food Truck License and Sublease Agreement").
To the extent Operator leases the Food Truck from an approved third party supplier, Chick-fil-A and Operator will enter into a Food Truck License Agreement with attached Lease that includes provisions providing for Chick-fil-A to license the right to use and operate the Food Truck as part of the Businesses to Operator and for the Operator to enter into a lease with the third party for the right to use and occupy the Food Truck (the "Food Truck License Agreement with attached Lease").

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Chick Fil A Franchise Disclosure Document, the parties involved in the Food Truck License Agreement are Chick-fil-A and the Operator. In some instances, depending on the specific agreement type, a third party such as the Operator-Owner or a Food Truck Lessor may also be party to the agreement. The Operator is the individual or entity that Chick-fil-A licenses to operate the Food Truck.
Chick-fil-A may lease the Food Truck from a third party and then sublease it to the Operator, in which case Chick-fil-A and the Operator will enter into a Food Truck License and Sublease Agreement. Alternatively, the Operator may lease the Food Truck from an approved third-party supplier; in this case, Chick-fil-A and the Operator will enter into a Food Truck License Agreement with attached Lease.
The Operator is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary regulatory approvals, licenses, and permits for the operation of the Food Truck, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Operator must also comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The Operator is expected to cooperate with Chick-fil-A to fulfill their respective duties and obligations under the agreement and the Food Truck Lease.
