What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chick Fil A's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Concession Agreement' is an agreement between Chick Fil A and a third-party owner or manager of a site, referred to as the 'Concessionor.' Under this agreement, the Concessionor grants Chick Fil A the right to operate a restaurant business or concessions at a specific location, known as the 'Concession Location(s).'
Chick Fil A, in turn, may sublicense its rights and privileges under the Concession Agreement to a Chick Fil A Operator. The Operator is then obligated to perform Chick Fil A's duties under the Concession Agreement as part of the rights granted to them under the Franchise Agreement. This arrangement typically applies to Captive Venue Units, which are Chick Fil A restaurants located in non-traditional venues such as airports, malls, or stadiums.
The Concession Agreement itself is attached as Exhibit C to the agreement between Chick Fil A and the Operator. It is also referenced and incorporated into the Franchise Agreement and, if applicable, the Additional Business Amendment for Captive Venue Units. Prospective franchisees should carefully review Exhibit C to understand the specific terms and conditions of the Concession Agreement applicable to their Captive Venue Unit.
