Under what conditions can a Chem Dry franchisee operate the business from their home?

Chem_Dry Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

You may operate your Chem-Dry Business from your home (where zoning and other laws and regulations permit) as space requirements are minimal, provided your home is within your Franchised Area, so the purchase or lease of a separate business location is optional.

If you have no or insufficient storage facilities, a unit the size of a single car garage that you own or rent in which a telephone can be installed, to which inventory and equipment can be delivered and stored, and which meets System Standards should be sufficient for your Business.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee can operate the business from their home under specific conditions. Chem Dry allows operation from a home, making the purchase or lease of a separate business location optional. However, this is contingent upon the franchisee's home being within their designated franchised area and compliant with all applicable zoning and other laws and regulations.

Even if operating from home, Chem Dry specifies that if the franchisee lacks sufficient storage, they must have access to a storage unit. This unit should be comparable in size to a single-car garage, whether owned or rented. The storage unit must also have a telephone installed, allow for inventory and equipment deliveries, and meet Chem Dry's System Standards.

This flexibility offers a potential cost-saving benefit for new Chem Dry franchisees by reducing the initial investment required. However, franchisees must ensure their home-based operation meets all stipulated requirements to maintain compliance with the franchise agreement.
