What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement's term (the "Term") begins on the Effective Date and concludes five years from the Payment Start Date, as specified in Section 8.B. of the agreement. If the agreement involves the transfer of an existing Chem-Dry business or is a Renewal Agreement, the term ends five years from the Effective Date of the agreement.
In simpler terms, the initial franchise term for a new Chem-Dry franchise is typically five years. The "Payment Start Date" influences the exact end date, as it marks when monthly franchise fee payments begin. For transfers or renewals, the five-year term starts directly from the agreement's Effective Date.
This five-year term is a standard duration in the franchise industry, providing Chem Dry franchisees with a defined period to establish and grow their business while also allowing Chem Dry to maintain brand standards and franchisee performance. Franchisees should be aware of the Payment Start Date, as it determines the precise end date of their initial franchise term and impacts renewal or transfer considerations.
