What This Means (2024 FDD)

The 2024 Chem Dry Franchise Disclosure Document states that Chem Dry grants franchisees a non-exclusive franchise to use the Chem Dry marks and franchise system to operate a Chem Dry business in a defined area. As part of operating the Chem Dry business, franchisees must offer and perform specific services that Chem Dry mandates, which may change over time.

Chem Dry's reputation depends on franchisees offering high-quality carpet and upholstery cleaning, spot removal, and protective services. Franchisees must only offer cleaning, spot removal, protecting products, and approved services that Chem Dry authorizes. Franchisees cannot sell, rent, or lease customer lists or use them for purposes outside of operating the business.

Without prior written approval from Chem Dry, franchisees cannot offer or sell any service or product not authorized by Chem Dry. The equipment used in Chem Dry businesses must only be used for operating the business in compliance with the franchise agreement and according to the operating procedures outlined in the manual. While Chem Dry specifies required and authorized services, the FDD does not explicitly guarantee the availability of these services to customers.
