Answer from 2024 FDD Document

FRANCHISEE agrees to use the Marks as the sole identification for the BUSINESS, except that FRANCHISEE shall always be identified as the independent owner and operator thereof in the form and manner prescribed by CDI. FRANCHISEE shall not use any Mark (1) as part of any Entity or legal business name, (2) with any prefix, suffix or other modifying words, terms, designs or symbols (other than logos licensed to FRANCHISEE hereunder), (3) in selling any unauthorized services or products, (4) as part of any domain name, homepage, electronic address, or otherwise in connection with a website or email, except as outlined in the Advertising Rules & Guidelines, or (5) in any other manner not expressly authorized in writing by CDI. FRANCHISEE may not use the Marks in advertising the transfer, sale, or other disposition of the BUSINESS or an ownership interest in FRANCHISEE without CDI's prior written consent, which it will not unreasonably withhold. FRANCHISEE agrees to prominently display the Marks (and only the Marks) on each van used by FRANCHISEE in connection with the operation of the BUSINESS, and on contracts, forms, equipment, uniforms and other materials authorized by CDI.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must prominently display the Chem Dry marks on specific items used in their business operations. This includes each van used for the business, contracts, forms, equipment, uniforms, and other materials authorized by Chem Dry.

This requirement ensures consistent branding and visibility for Chem Dry. By displaying the marks on these items, franchisees reinforce brand recognition and customer awareness. This also helps to maintain a uniform image across all Chem Dry franchise locations, which is a common practice in franchising to ensure brand consistency.

It is important to note that franchisees must use the marks as the sole identification for the business, while also identifying themselves as the independent owner and operator in a manner prescribed by Chem Dry. Franchisees are restricted from using the marks in unauthorized ways, such as in entity names, with unapproved modifications, or in connection with unauthorized services or products. These limitations protect the integrity and value of the Chem Dry brand.

Prospective franchisees should carefully review the specific guidelines and requirements for using the Chem Dry marks to ensure compliance and maintain a consistent brand image. Understanding these requirements is crucial for operating a successful Chem Dry franchise and upholding the brand's reputation.
