What is a Chem Dry franchisee's obligation if the Manual is lost, damaged, or destroyed?

According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the Chem Dry Manual is lost, damaged, or destroyed, the franchisee must obtain a replacement copy. The franchisee will be charged the then-current applicable fee for the replacement.

The Chem Dry Manual contains mandatory and suggested specifications, standards, operating procedures, and rules, referred to as "System Standards," prescribed by Chem Dry for operating a Chem Dry Business. It also includes information about the franchisee's other obligations under the Franchise Agreement. Chem Dry retains the right to modify the manual, provided that such changes do not alter the franchisee's fundamental rights under the agreement. Franchisees are responsible for keeping their manuals current.

Chem Dry may choose to post the Manual on a restricted website or intranet. If this occurs, the franchisee must follow Chem Dry's security protocols and regularly check the website or intranet for updates to the Manual or System Standards. Any passwords or digital identifications required to access the Manual online are considered confidential information.
