What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may need to obtain consent from Chem Dry to offer and perform services beyond the standard required services. Specifically, franchisees may, upon consent or request of Chem Dry, offer and perform other services that Chem Dry first approves. These additional services may require certification through additional training, purchasing extra equipment, and using specific cleaning solutions.
Chem Dry retains the right to modify the lists of both required and additional services at any time. They can also condition the offer, sale, or continuation of additional services and products at their discretion. This means that a Chem Dry franchisee's ability to expand their service offerings is subject to Chem Dry's approval and any conditions they may impose.
As of the effective date of the franchise agreement, the list of additional services includes leather and vinyl cleaning, carpet repair, carpet spot dyeing, vinyl composite tile cleaning services, wood floor cleaning, applying anti-allergen and deodorizer, and dryer vent cleaning. A prospective franchisee should discuss with Chem Dry what certifications, training, equipment, and cleaning solutions are needed to perform additional services.
