What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must operate their business in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations. This explicitly includes all government regulations relating to environmental protection. This requirement extends beyond environmental regulations to include compliance with laws related to occupational hazards and health, worker's compensation insurance, unemployment insurance, terrorist activities, and the withholding and payment of federal and state income taxes, social security taxes, and sales and service taxes.
This obligation means that a prospective Chem Dry franchisee must be aware of and adhere to all relevant environmental laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. These regulations can cover various aspects of the business, such as the disposal of cleaning solutions, the use of environmentally friendly products, and waste management practices. Failing to comply with these regulations can result in fines, penalties, and legal action, which could negatively impact the franchisee's business and financial standing.
Furthermore, the Chem Dry franchise agreement emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of honesty, integrity, fair dealing, and ethical conduct in all business dealings. This includes adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements. Franchisees are also required to notify Chem Dry in writing within five days of any notice of violation of any law, ordinance, or regulation relating to the business. This ensures that Chem Dry is aware of any potential issues and can work with the franchisee to resolve them.
In addition to environmental regulations, Chem Dry franchisees must also comply with data security and privacy legislation applicable to their business and customers, as well as any Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards applicable to credit card data or related information. This comprehensive compliance requirement underscores the importance of franchisees staying informed about and adhering to all applicable laws and regulations to operate a successful and legally sound Chem Dry business.
