What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees face several restrictions regarding their business and advertising practices. Chem Dry franchisees must only offer cleaning, spot removal, and protection products and services that Chem Dry authorizes for the business. They are prohibited from offering or selling any type of service or product not authorized by Chem Dry without prior written approval. Additionally, franchisees cannot resell any type of cleaning solutions without express written approval from Chem Dry.
Chem Dry franchisees are also restricted in how they use the Chem Dry name and associated trademarks. After the franchise agreement terminates, the franchisee cannot identify themselves as a current or former Chem Dry franchisee or use any trademark or commercial symbol that suggests a connection with Chem Dry. They must also cancel any assumed name registrations related to their use of Chem Dry's marks and transfer any phone numbers associated with the business to Chem Dry.
These restrictions are typical in franchising to maintain brand consistency and protect the franchisor's intellectual property. For a prospective Chem Dry franchisee, it's crucial to understand these limitations and ensure they align with their business goals. Failure to comply with these restrictions can result in breach of contract and potential termination of the franchise agreement.
