What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from copying the operations manual. Chem Dry provides franchisees with access to a manual that contains mandatory and suggested specifications, standards, operating procedures, and rules for running a Chem Dry business. This manual may be in the form of DVDs, computer software, web-based training, or written materials.
The Chem Dry franchise agreement stipulates that franchisees cannot copy, duplicate, record, or otherwise reproduce any part of the manual. This restriction is in place to protect the confidential information and trade secrets contained within the manual. The manual's contents are considered confidential, and franchisees can only disclose the manual to employees who need to know its contents for operating the business.
If a Chem Dry franchisee loses, damages, or destroys their manual, they must obtain a replacement copy from Chem Dry at the company's then-applicable charge. This policy ensures that franchisees always have access to the most current and accurate information needed to operate their business while preventing unauthorized reproduction and distribution of Chem Dry's proprietary materials.
