Answer from 2024 FDD Document

te. Under the Franchise Agreement, you must offer and perform carpet and area rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, spot removal and protecting services, including removing red stains, treating pet urine odor on carpets and imparting stain resistance to carpet fibers that we mandate (the "Required Services"). You also may offer and perform additional services ("Additional Services") that we first

approve for as long as you meet the requirements for continuing to offer the Additional Services. We refer to the Required Services and the Additional Services as the "Approved Services." We may require that you first successfully complete additional training and/or purchase of additional equipment and cleaning solutions.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Chem-Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may need to complete additional training or purchase extra equipment and cleaning solutions to offer 'Additional Services'. Chem-Dry first approves these additional services, and franchisees must meet the requirements to continue offering them.

This means that while franchisees are required to offer specific services such as carpet and area rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, spot removal, and protecting services, they have the option to expand their service offerings with additional services like leather and vinyl cleaning, carpet repair, and wood floor cleaning. However, this expansion is contingent on Chem-Dry's approval and the franchisee meeting certain requirements, which may include further training or investment in new equipment.

For a prospective Chem-Dry franchisee, this implies a need to budget not only for the initial franchise costs and required services but also for potential future investments in training and equipment if they wish to offer additional services. It also highlights the importance of discussing with Chem-Dry what specific training or equipment might be needed for each additional service to properly plan for business growth and expansion. This requirement ensures that Chem-Dry maintains consistent service quality across all its franchises, regardless of the services offered.
