What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chem-Dry's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chem-Dry will not advise franchisees about or participate in the hiring of their employees. However, Chem-Dry will provide updated or continuing training to franchisees and, at the franchisee's request, to their employees.
Chem-Dry offers guidance to franchisees on standards, specifications, operating procedures, and methods used by Chem-Dry businesses. This guidance is provided through the Manual, bulletins, internet, newsletters, written materials, telephone consultations, and consultations at designated locations. Chem-Dry also holds additional training and conventions for franchisees, providing instruction on improvements and developments in administrative, bookkeeping, accounting, pricing, and operation issues.
While Chem-Dry provides training for franchisees and their employees, the FDD clarifies that Chem-Dry is not obligated to assist franchisees in hiring and training employees beyond the provided training programs. Franchisees are responsible for their own hiring decisions and processes. This is a fairly typical arrangement in the franchise industry, where franchisees are generally considered independent business owners responsible for managing their own staff.
