According to Checkersrallys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who wishes to transfer their Development Rights must pay a transfer fee of $20,000 to Checkersrallys. This fee is one of several conditions that must be met for Checkersrallys to approve the transfer.

In addition to the transfer fee, the franchisee and their owners and affiliates must be in compliance with the existing Development Agreement and all related Franchise Agreements. The franchisee must have opened and be operating at least one restaurant at the time of the proposed transfer. The proposed transferee must also meet Checkersrallys's criteria, including demonstrating sufficient business and development experience, aptitude, and financial resources.

Furthermore, the transferee must agree to be bound by all the provisions of the Development Agreement for the remainder of its term and must acquire all rights under franchise agreements for Restaurants executed by the franchisee. Both the transferring franchisee and the transferee must also execute a general release of any claims against Checkersrallys. These conditions ensure that any transfer of development rights is to a qualified party who will continue to uphold the standards and obligations of the franchise agreement.
