What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkersrallys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must apply for all required government approvals and permits to develop the premises within sixty (60) days after executing the proposed lease, sublease, or purchase agreement for the premises. This means that after you sign the agreement to lease, sublease, or purchase the location for your Checkersrallys restaurant, you have a 60-day window to submit all necessary applications for government approvals and permits needed for development.

It's important to note that failing to meet this deadline could potentially lead to delays in your restaurant's opening. While Checkersrallys may grant an extension, it is at their sole discretion and may require payment of a nonrefundable extension fee of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000). Therefore, it is crucial to be proactive and efficient in securing the necessary approvals and permits within the initial 60-day period.

This requirement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors need to ensure that franchisees are moving forward with the development process in a timely manner. The specific timeframe can vary, but a 60-day window is a reasonable period to allow franchisees to gather the necessary documentation and submit their applications. Franchisees should consult with local experts and government agencies to understand the specific requirements and timelines for their area to ensure compliance.
