For a Checkersrallys franchise, what is the deadline to open the franchised restaurant after construction or installation is completed, if the franchised restaurant receives training support?

Checkersrallys Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must open the Franchised Restaurant within fourteen (14) days after the date construction or installation is completed, or, if the Franchised Restaurant receives training support from us, within nineteen 19 days after construction or installation is completed. We must approve the Franchised Restaurant for opening. If, after expending good faith best efforts (as we determine in our sole judgment), you are unable to obtain all requisite approvals and permits or complete construction of the Franchised Restaurant within the prescribed time periods under this paragraph, and we did not previously grant you an extension under Sections 3.02 or 3.03 above, then you may request an extension of time to obtain such governmental approvals and permits or complete construction, which we may grant to you in our sole discretion.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkersrallys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must open their restaurant within a specific timeframe after construction or installation is completed. If the restaurant receives training support from Checkersrallys, the franchisee has 19 days after the completion of construction or installation to open the restaurant.

This requirement ensures that franchisees promptly capitalize on their investment and begin generating revenue. The additional time provided when training support is involved likely accounts for the time needed to implement the training and prepare the staff for the restaurant's opening.

It is important to note that Checkersrallys must approve the restaurant for opening. The franchisee also needs to provide Checkersrallys at least 30 days' notice of the planned opening date. This allows Checkersrallys to ensure that all requirements are met, such as payment of fees, completion of training, and receipt of insurance certificates, before the restaurant begins operations.
