What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Checkersrallys's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the current National Production Fund (NPF) contribution rate is 2.65% of Net Sales. However, franchisees are required to spend a total of 4.5% of their Net Sales on advertising and marketing. This 4.5% includes the NPF contribution, contributions to regional or local advertising cooperatives, and any amounts spent on local marketing or advertising purchasing collectives established and controlled by Checkersrallys.
If a Checkersrallys restaurant is in an area without an advertising cooperative, Checkersrallys has the option to require the franchisee to spend the difference between the current NPF contribution rate and the 4.5% advertising requirement on local marketing. Alternatively, Checkersrallys can require the franchisee to contribute that difference to an advertising purchasing collective controlled by Checkersrallys, or the franchisee may join a local or regional cooperative created by Checkersrallys.
It's important to note that the NPF contribution rate is subject to change. Also, Western Licensees operate under a different agreement where they pay a 1% royalty but have no obligation to contribute to the NPF or an advertising cooperative, and they may not receive the same advertising and marketing support as other franchisees.
