What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus under specific conditions. Checkers has a policy where franchisees who refer a new prospective franchisee candidate to them may receive $5,000 in cash as a referral bonus. However, this is contingent on Checkers having no prior relationship with the referred candidate and the candidate successfully opening a new Checkers restaurant. The bonus is paid within 30 days of the new restaurant opening.

This referral bonus is offered as a way for Checkers to acknowledge and appreciate the independent efforts of its franchisees in helping to expand the franchise network. It incentivizes existing franchisees to actively seek out and recommend potential new franchisees, leveraging their knowledge and experience to identify suitable candidates.

It's important to note that Checkers retains the right to modify or cancel this referral bonus policy in the future. Prospective franchisees should confirm the current terms and conditions of the referral program with Checkers before relying on it. This type of referral bonus is not uncommon in the franchise industry, as it helps franchisors grow their brand while rewarding existing franchisees for their contributions.
