What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the social media policies established by Checkers, and they must ensure that all owners and employees do the same. Checkers retains the right to maintain its own social media sites. Franchisees cannot establish or maintain any social media sites using Checkers' trademarks without prior written consent from Checkers. Checkers can also designate regional or territory-specific usernames/handles for franchisees to maintain.

This means that as a Checkers franchisee, you have limited autonomy over your restaurant's social media presence. You must get approval before creating any social media accounts for your location. Checkers maintains control over the brand's image and messaging on social media.

It is important for prospective franchisees to understand these social media policies, as failure to comply could result in a breach of the franchise agreement. Franchisees should ask Checkers for a detailed copy of their social media policy to fully understand their obligations.
