What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee (or the Operating Partner) and any general managers of the franchised restaurant that have not managed a restaurant within the preceding 18 months must successfully complete the initial training program to Checkers' satisfaction. This training must be completed before the restaurant's opening date.

The initial training program for Checkers covers all phases of restaurant operations. This includes food preparation, equipment operation and maintenance, cost control, inventory control, and basic management techniques. The training program is substantially similar for all restaurants, but there can be some variation based on preparation methods used by Checkers or Rally's Restaurants.

Checkers may conduct the in-store training at a restaurant in Florida or another designated city for a period of 4 to 5 weeks. The length of the training depends on the background and experience of the person being trained, as well as proximity and availability. Checkers may also conduct certain portions of the classroom training online. Generally, training is conducted 30 to 90 days before opening the franchised restaurant.
