What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee (or the Operating Partner) and any general managers who have not managed a restaurant within the 18 months leading up to opening a Checkers franchise must successfully complete the initial training program. This training must be completed before the restaurant's opening date.
The initial training program is designed to cover all aspects of restaurant operations. This includes food preparation, equipment operation and maintenance, cost control, inventory management, and basic management techniques. The training program is generally consistent for all restaurants, though there may be some variations depending on the preparation methods used at Checkers or Rally's restaurants.
Checkers may conduct the in-store training at a restaurant in Florida or another designated city outside of Florida. The training period typically lasts between 4 and 5 weeks, but the duration can vary based on the trainee's background, experience, proximity, and availability. Checkers may also conduct portions of the classroom training online. Generally, training is conducted 30 to 90 days before the franchise restaurant opens.
