What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the formal acceptance of a proposed restaurant site occurs through the delivery of a standard franchise site package, including a site acceptance letter duly executed by Checkers. This letter serves as the exclusive means by which Checkers accepts a proposed site. No other form of communication, whether written or verbal, from any officer, employee, or agent of Checkers is considered binding.

A prospective Checkers franchisee must first submit a complete application for a franchise and a site application form that aligns with Checkers' current site selection criteria. This application should include a detailed description of the proposed site, covering aspects such as traffic patterns, parking availability, neighborhood characteristics, and competition from nearby businesses. Additionally, the franchisee must provide a letter of intent or other evidence demonstrating favorable prospects for securing the proposed site.

Checkers aims to make a decision on site acceptance and, if approved, deliver the site acceptance letter within 30 days after acknowledging receipt of the complete site report and any other requested materials. In evaluating a proposed site, Checkers may consider various factors, including the location and neighborhood, demographic information, traffic patterns, accessibility, visibility, the presence of other restaurants, and the site's physical characteristics.

This process ensures that both Checkers and the franchisee are aligned on the suitability of the location before moving forward with the franchise agreement. The franchisee should ensure that all required information is accurately and comprehensively presented in the site application to facilitate a timely and positive response from Checkers.
