What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a prospective franchisee must submit a complete application for a franchise and a site application form for each proposed restaurant site. This application should demonstrate the franchisee's good faith belief that the site meets Checkers' current standard site selection criteria.

The site application must include a detailed description of the proposed site. This description should cover several key aspects, including a summary of traffic patterns, parking availability, the character of the neighborhood, and an analysis of competition from other businesses in the vicinity. The application must also detail the proximity to other businesses and their nature.

Crucially, the application must include a letter of intent or other evidence that confirms the franchisee's favorable prospects for obtaining the proposed site. This documentation serves as an indication to Checkers that the franchisee has taken concrete steps toward securing the location and that there is a reasonable expectation of success in acquiring the site. Checkers will then either accept or reject the site based on the application.
