What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Checkers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated initial investment for new restaurants may also apply if you are reopening an existing Checkers restaurant that ceased operations. The initial investment varies based on the restaurant format, including modular design drive-thru, conversion of a drive-thru, site-built restaurant, endcap strip-center, in-line restaurant in a high-density market, and gas station/station, Non-Traditional, or Walmart restaurant.

Prospective franchisees should be aware that these are only estimates, and actual costs may be higher depending on individual circumstances. Checkers does not offer financing for the initial investment. The estimated initial investment does not include real estate and related costs.

If a franchisee purchases an existing company-owned Checkers or Rally's Restaurant, the investment may be greater or smaller than the estimated initial investment, depending on the circumstances. In addition to the initial franchise fee, the franchisee will also pay a $10,000 asset transfer fee for that location.

The FDD provides a range of costs for different expenditure types. For example, for a conversion restaurant, restaurant building costs range from $2,630 to $149,000, while restaurant equipment and technology costs range from $25,000 to $329,538. Additional funds for 3 months are estimated to be between $50,000 and $120,000. The total estimated initial investment for a conversion restaurant, excluding real estate costs, ranges from $123,630 to $725,538.
