What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Checkers Franchise Disclosure Document, several documents are related to and may be included as part of the Franchise Agreement. These include Riders and Exhibits that modify or add to the agreement. For example, there's a Rider to the Franchise Agreement for use in California, Indiana, Michigan, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin, which addresses the waiver of claims and disclaimers of reliance in those states. There is also an Illinois Rider to the Franchise Agreement. These riders are annexed to and form part of the agreement.
Additionally, there are exhibits such as Exhibit A and Exhibit J that are part of the agreement. These exhibits likely contain specific details or terms relevant to the franchise. The agreement also includes addenda, such as one addressing operations at Non-Traditional Sites, which outlines the franchisee's lack of territorial protection or exclusivity and confirms that the addendum constitutes the entire understanding between the parties regarding its subject matter.
Furthermore, the Franchise Agreement and all ancillary documents executed or delivered in connection with the agreement may be signed and delivered electronically. Franchisees acknowledge receipt of the Franchise Disclosure Document and the Franchise Agreement, with all blanks completed, within the time periods required by applicable law. These acknowledgements confirm that franchisees have had the opportunity to review all relevant documents before entering into the agreement.
