What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Checkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, facsimile signatures are acceptable on certain addenda to the franchise agreement. Specifically, with regard to addenda related to the Vet Fran Incentive, the Growth Incentive, and the Women Business Owner Incentive, Checkers will accept facsimile signatures.
This acceptance of facsimile signatures provides convenience for both Checkers and the franchisee, allowing for quicker execution of these addenda. This can be particularly beneficial when time is of the essence, such as when securing incentives or meeting deadlines for restaurant openings.
However, it is important to note that while facsimile signatures are accepted for these specific addenda, the standard franchise agreement and potentially other addenda may require original signatures or electronic signatures as defined in the agreement. Franchisees should carefully review each document to ensure compliance with the signature requirements to avoid any potential issues with the enforceability of the agreements.
