What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chatime, its affiliates, consultants, and agents, have the right to inspect the Outlet and construction work periodically during construction. This is to verify the progress and the franchisee's compliance with the franchise agreement terms.
This inspection right allows Chatime to ensure that the franchisee is adhering to the brand's standards and specifications during the construction phase. For a prospective franchisee, this means they should expect regular visits and oversight from Chatime representatives during the building process. These visits will likely focus on confirming that the construction aligns with approved plans and Chatime's system standards.
The franchisee should maintain open communication with Chatime and ensure all construction activities are transparent and in accordance with the agreed-upon plans. While this oversight helps maintain brand consistency and quality, it also places the onus on the franchisee to adhere strictly to Chatime's guidelines and address any concerns raised during inspections promptly.
This inspection right is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it allows franchisors to protect their brand and ensure uniformity across all locations. Franchisees should view these inspections as a collaborative process to help them establish a successful Chatime outlet that meets all required standards.
