What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program is mandatory for all franchisees. In addition to the franchisee, the General Manager(s) and key management personnel (as defined in the Franchise Agreement) must also complete the initial training program to Chatime's satisfaction. This training must start no earlier than two months before the Chatime store's opening date and must be completed before the store opens.
The initial training program is designed to cover all aspects of operating a Chatime franchise and store. It involves approximately two weeks of instruction for up to four people trained together. Chatime may provide additional initial training programs for more personnel, but this will be at the franchisee's expense.
Successfully completing the initial training is crucial. If the franchisee or their designated personnel do not meet all training and certification requirements on time and to Chatime's satisfaction, they will be responsible for additional training costs, and the store opening may be delayed. All costs incurred due to the delay will be borne by the franchisee. Chatime also retains the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement if the approved training programs are not completed within a reasonable time or as agreed in writing with Chatime.
