What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chatime does provide franchisees with on-site advice, guidance, and support during the initial operations of their store. However, this service is provided for a fee, and the franchisee is responsible for covering reasonable compensation and reimbursing Chatime for all associated costs and expenses. These expenses include, but are not limited to, compensation, travel, accommodations, and meals for the Chatime personnel providing the support. The franchisee will be invoiced for these services.
This means that while Chatime offers assistance to get the store up and running smoothly, it comes at an additional cost to the franchisee. This is a fairly common practice in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to provide tailored support while ensuring they are compensated for their time and resources.
Prospective franchisees should factor in these potential costs when budgeting for their initial investment. It would be prudent to discuss with Chatime what the typical costs for this on-site support might be, how long the support usually lasts, and what specific areas of operation the support covers to accurately estimate these expenses.
