ment and training of a new Managing Owner or Operating Manager or if, in our judgment, the Franchised Business is not being managed properly, we have the right, but not the obligation, to appoint a manager for the Franchised Business and require you to pay in the manner described in clause 14.
- (6) The Managing Owner and the Operating manager must attend and complete to Franchisor's satisfaction such training programs as Franchisor prescribes including the initial training referred to in clause 3 (which may be conducted in whole or in part at any place designated by Franchisor).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, both the Managing Owner and the Operating Manager must attend and complete the training programs to Chatime's satisfaction. This includes the initial training program. Chatime has the discretion to conduct these training programs, in whole or in part, at any location they designate.
If either the Managing Owner or Operating Manager fails to satisfactorily complete the initial training, or if Chatime determines they are incapable of doing so, Chatime can elect to train a qualified replacement at the franchisee's expense. This replacement must also be reasonably acceptable to Chatime, and the training must occur within 30 days of the determination.
This requirement ensures that key personnel are adequately trained in Chatime's operational standards and procedures. The franchisee bears the financial responsibility for ensuring their managers meet Chatime's training standards, including the cost of replacement training if the initial manager fails to complete the program satisfactorily. This protects Chatime's brand standards and operational consistency across all franchise locations.
