What must on-site supervisors complete to be certified as a manager of a Chatime location?

Chatime Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Before your Chatime Store opens for business, we require that your managing owner and operating manager attend and complete our initial training program to our satisfaction. As a general matter, subject to the successful completion of training, we do not have restrictions on who you may hire as an on-site supervisor, however they must complete all training and be certified as the manager of the location by the Franchisor.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, on-site supervisors must complete all training and be certified as the manager of the location by Chatime to be considered a certified manager.

Chatime requires that the managing owner and operating manager attend and complete the initial training program to Chatime's satisfaction before the Chatime store opens. If a Chatime store is not being managed by an operating manager who has attended and completed the initial training program to Chatime's satisfaction, Chatime is authorized to appoint a manager to maintain operations on the franchisee's behalf. However, the franchisee will still be responsible for their obligations under the franchise agreement.

Chatime may also require franchisees, their senior managers, and any guarantors to complete additional training or refresher courses throughout the term of the agreement. This training may be conducted in person, digitally, or through a combination of blended learning, and must be successfully completed to Chatime's satisfaction. Failure to complete the approved training programs in a timely manner may result in additional training costs for the franchisee.
