What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, both the Managing Owner and the Operating Manager are required to attend and complete training programs that Chatime prescribes. This includes the initial training program, which may be conducted at a location designated by Chatime. The satisfactory completion of these programs is mandatory.
If either the Managing Owner or Operating Manager fails to satisfactorily complete the initial training, or if Chatime determines that they are incapable of doing so, Chatime has the option to train a qualified replacement at the franchisee's expense. This replacement must also be reasonably acceptable to Chatime, and the training must occur within 30 days.
In addition to initial training, Chatime may also require the franchisee, guarantor, and any senior managers to complete further formal training programs during the initial term of the franchise agreement. These programs will be conducted in English at a location designated by Chatime. The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with attending these training sessions, including travel, accommodation, meals, wages, and any fees levied by Chatime for the training.
