What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Chatime Network is defined as the network of Chatime Outlets located within the Development Area. A Chatime Store, which constitutes an Outlet, is a full-service retail store that offers products listed on the Chatime Menu for sale, meets Chatime's standards and specifications, operates under the Marks and the System, and is operated by a Developer pursuant to a valid Franchise Agreement.
For a prospective Chatime franchisee, this definition clarifies the scope of the network they are joining. It specifies that the network consists of Chatime Outlets within a defined Development Area, emphasizing the importance of the geographical component in the franchise agreement. The definition of a Chatime Store outlines the operational and branding standards that franchisees must adhere to, including offering approved menu items and operating under the established Marks and System.
This definition is important because it sets the boundaries for the franchisee's operations and the overall network. It ensures consistency across all Chatime locations and helps maintain brand standards. The reference to a 'valid Franchise Agreement' underscores the legal foundation upon which the franchisee's rights and obligations are based. Franchisees should pay close attention to the specifics of their Development Area and the operational standards outlined in the Operations Manual to ensure compliance and maintain the integrity of the Chatime Network.
