What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor can change the 'Business Name' of a Chatime franchise. The 'Business Name' is defined as "Chatime any other name or logo associated with operation of the Chatime Store Business as the Franchisor shall notify the Franchisee of in accordance with the terms of the Franchise Documents from time to time." This means Chatime has the right to modify the name or logo associated with the franchise.

This definition indicates that Chatime retains control over its brand identity and can make changes to the 'Business Name' as it deems necessary. These changes will be communicated to the franchisee through the Franchise Documents. It is important for a prospective franchisee to understand that the brand's name and associated logos are subject to change at Chatime's discretion.

For a potential Chatime franchisee, this means they must remain flexible and adaptable to changes in branding. While Chatime is obligated to inform franchisees of these changes, the franchisee has limited control over these decisions. This is a common practice in franchising, where maintaining brand consistency across all locations is a priority for the franchisor.
