What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Chatime retains the right to approve outlet construction plans and inspect the construction work. This right allows Chatime to verify the progress of construction and ensure the franchisee's compliance with the terms outlined in the Franchise Agreement. This is a standard practice in franchising, intended to protect brand consistency and quality.

Chatime requires franchisees to construct and develop their outlets in accordance with the System Standards. If required by Chatime, all plans and specifications for the outlet must be approved by Chatime. Franchisees must also use Chatime's approved suppliers for services such as real estate, construction management, architectural design, and permit acquisition. This ensures that the outlet aligns with Chatime's brand image and operational standards.

Chatime also has the discretion to approve or disapprove the interior and exterior design of the outlet. Franchisees must ensure compliance with Chatime's System Standards, legal requirements, and lease restrictions during construction. Any material revisions to the approved plans require Chatime's written approval, which Chatime must approve or disapprove within 10 business days. Upon completion of construction, franchisees must provide Chatime with a set of "as built" plans and specifications. Chatime has the right, but not the obligation, to approve architects and other design and construction professionals to maintain consistency, uniformity, and quality with the Chatime system and image.
