What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who modifies Chatime's site selection criteria and processes must submit these modifications to Chatime for approval. Chatime must then notify the franchisee of its approval or of any changes that need to be made. The franchisee must use only the site selection criteria and processes that Chatime has approved for selecting sites in their territory.

This means that while franchisees have some flexibility to tailor site selection to their specific territory, Chatime retains ultimate control over the process. This ensures brand consistency and adherence to Chatime's overall strategic goals.

For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of understanding Chatime's existing site selection criteria and the process for requesting and receiving approval for modifications. It also emphasizes the need for clear communication and collaboration with Chatime during the site selection phase.
