What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee looking to transfer their franchise must provide Chatime with the purchase agreement between the franchisee and the transferee, as well as any other documents related to the transfer.
This requirement ensures that Chatime has full visibility into the terms of the transfer agreement. It allows them to assess whether the transfer complies with the franchise agreement and protects the Chatime brand.
In addition to providing the purchase agreement and related documents, the franchisee must also ensure that the transfer would not lead to or have any adverse effect on the Chatime system or network. This places the onus on the franchisee to demonstrate that the transfer is beneficial or at least neutral to the franchise system as a whole. Prospective franchisees should carefully document all aspects of the transfer and be prepared to provide comprehensive information to Chatime during the transfer approval process.
