What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Chatime Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee seeking to assign their franchise must provide Chatime with comprehensive details regarding the proposed assignment. This includes a copy of the applicable contract, which must adhere to Chatime's requirements, and any other agreements established between the franchisee and the prospective assignee.

This requirement ensures that Chatime can thoroughly assess the terms of the assignment and safeguard its interests. Specifically, Chatime aims to confirm that the contract of sale does not infringe upon its intellectual property rights. By reviewing all associated documents, Chatime can make an informed decision regarding the assignment and maintain the integrity of its brand and operational standards.

It is important to note that Chatime does not assume the role of a broker or negotiator in the sale of a franchise. The responsibility for selling the franchised business and negotiating the terms of the sale rests solely with the franchisee. Chatime's involvement is limited to reviewing the proposed assignment to protect its own interests and ensure compliance with its franchise agreement.
