What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chatime's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the definition of 'Confidential Information' includes business plans. The FDD specifies that 'Confidential Information' encompasses any sensitive or valuable information belonging to Chatime or its affiliates related to the franchise or the Business System. This includes, but isn't limited to, various types of data and plans.

Specifically, the definition of 'Confidential Information' includes marketing plans and business plans. This means that any business plans a franchisee creates or receives related to the Chatime store are considered confidential and cannot be disclosed to unauthorized parties. This obligation extends to information concerning price lists, customer lists, client information, and marketing and promotional procedures and activities.

For a prospective Chatime franchisee, this means they must protect all such information. This obligation is crucial because it protects Chatime's competitive advantage and trade secrets. Failure to comply with these confidentiality obligations could result in legal action from Chatime. Franchisees should be aware of the scope of 'Confidential Information' and take appropriate measures to safeguard it.
