What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Central Bark Doggy Day Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who meets specific requirements may be able to acquire a renewal franchise for an additional ten-year term. To be eligible for renewal, the franchisee and each of its owners must have substantially complied with the existing agreement during its term. They must also be in full compliance with the agreement and all Central Bark Doggy Day Care System Standards both when they provide written notice of their intent to renew and when the renewal term is set to begin.
To maintain brand consistency, Central Bark Doggy Day Care requires that franchisees who are renewing their franchise maintain possession of the business location and agree to remodel or expand it, add or replace improvements, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and modify the business to comply with the System Standards applicable to new Central Bark Doggy Day Care facilities. Alternatively, the franchisee can secure a substitute premises that meets the franchisor's approval and develop that location according to the then-current System Standards.
If a Central Bark Doggy Day Care franchisee meets all the requirements for renewal, they must sign the current franchise agreement used by the franchisor for new franchises, with modifications to reflect that it is a renewal. This new agreement may contain terms that differ significantly from the original agreement. While the initial franchise fee is waived for renewals, the franchisee must pay a renewal fee of $15,000.
