You must use the architect we specify to design the Store and our designated general contractor to oversee the Store's development.
You also must submit to us for our approval all construction and remodeling plans and specifications before beginning build-out for your Store and all revised or "as built" plans and specifications as they are prepared during construction and development.
Our review is limited to ensuring your compliance with our design requirements and Operating Standards.
Our review is not designed to assess compliance with federal, state, or local laws and regulations, including the
ADA, as compliance with these laws is your responsibility. We may, but have no obligation to, periodically inspect the Store's site during its development. (Franchise Agreement – Section 3.2)

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cd One Price Cleaners FDD, franchisees are required to use an architect specified by Cd One Price Cleaners to design the store. Additionally, franchisees must use Cd One Price Cleaners' designated general contractor to oversee the store's development.
Before starting the build-out, franchisees must submit all construction and remodeling plans and specifications to Cd One Price Cleaners for approval. Any revisions or "as built" plans created during construction must also be submitted for approval. Cd One Price Cleaners' review is limited to ensuring compliance with their design requirements and operating standards.
Cd One Price Cleaners' review does not assess compliance with federal, state, or local laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Ensuring compliance with these laws is the franchisee's responsibility. Cd One Price Cleaners may periodically inspect the store's site during development, but they are not obligated to do so. This requirement ensures that all Cd One Price Cleaners locations adhere to a consistent design and operational standard, but it also places the onus on the franchisee to ensure legal compliance.
