What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may designate their personal residence as the administrative office for their Franchised Business if certain conditions are met. Specifically, this is permissible only if it is allowed by applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including local zoning laws. The franchisee is responsible for independently verifying that their personal residence meets these legal requirements.

If using a personal residence is not permitted by local laws, the franchisee must establish their Administrative Office in a commercial location within their Operating Market. Regardless of location, the Administrative Office must conform to Casiola's standards and specifications, as detailed in the Operations Manual. The franchisee must also obtain Casiola's written approval of the Administrative Office location.

Furthermore, the Administrative Office, whether a personal residence or a commercial location, must not be accessible to the public or to the franchisee's customers. Casiola also requires that the franchisee identify and evaluate the proposed Administrative Office, ensure it complies with the franchise agreement, meets Casiola's standards, and is presented to Casiola for approval in a timely manner. The franchisee must secure the location within 60 days of the agreement's effective date, as evidenced by a binding lease with a duration equal to the full term of the agreement.
