What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Casiola has the unilateral right to reject any and all advertising related to the franchised business. This extends to advertising related to Casiola itself, the Casiola system, other Casiola businesses, and any advertising using Casiola's licensed marks.
This provision grants Casiola significant control over the marketing and public image of its brand. It ensures that all advertising aligns with Casiola's standards and specifications, maintaining consistency and protecting the brand's reputation. The franchisee must ensure that all advertising and promotion of their franchised business is factual, ethical, and conforms to Casiola's standards.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that all advertising materials must be approved by Casiola before they are used. Failure to comply with Casiola's advertising standards could result in the rejection of the advertising campaign. This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as franchisors need to protect their brand image. Franchisees should factor in the time it may take to get approval for advertising into their schedules.
