What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use the Wheelhouse revenue management system. Additionally, franchisees must utilize the Travelnet Solutions property management system (PMS) and a channel manager system. These systems must be exclusively licensed and used in the day-to-day operations and overall management of the Casiola business.

This requirement ensures that all Casiola locations operate using a standardized technology platform, which allows the franchisor to maintain consistency and quality across the brand. It also provides Casiola with direct access to all information entered and maintained within these systems, giving them real-time visibility into the franchisee's operations. This level of oversight is common in franchising, as it helps the franchisor monitor performance and enforce brand standards.

For a prospective franchisee, this means they will need to budget for the costs associated with licensing and using these specific software systems. It also means they will not have the flexibility to choose alternative systems, even if they believe another option might be more suitable for their business. While this may seem restrictive, it is intended to streamline operations and ensure that all franchisees are using compatible technology. It is important to note that Casiola earns revenue from the licensing and use of their application.

Furthermore, Casiola requires franchisees to maintain a computer system at their administrative office, including specific hardware, software, and peripheral devices such as printers. They must also have a laptop computer and a smartphone with cellular internet access. These technology requirements are in place to support the use of the mandated software systems and ensure that franchisees have the necessary tools to manage their business effectively.
