What This Means (2024 FDD)

The 2024 Casiola Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) does not explicitly state who is responsible for paying wages and withholding taxes for employees of a Casiola franchise. However, the FDD does include a sample confidentiality agreement that refers to the franchisee as the employer.

Specifically, the sample confidentiality agreement states that the franchisee independently owns and operates the Casiola business. It also states that the person signing the agreement is or is about to be an employee, independent contractor, officer and/or director of a Casiola Business that is independently owned and operated by the franchisee. This implies that the franchisee is responsible for the employees of their business.

Because the FDD does not explicitly state who is responsible for paying wages and withholding taxes, prospective franchisees should clarify these obligations with Casiola prior to signing the Franchise Agreement. Understanding these obligations is crucial for managing the financial and legal aspects of the franchise.
