What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Casiola FDD, the fees associated with the Bookings and Management Systems are designated and determined by Casiola in their Reasonable Business Judgment. These fees, called "User Network and Processing System Fees," are charged to end-user guests and property owners for accessing and utilizing approved services and products. These fees include booking fees for using the system and payment processing fees.
In simpler terms, Casiola decides how much to charge customers (guests and property owners) for using the booking system and processing payments. These charges are separate from the franchise fees paid by the franchisee. Casiola retains the authority to modify these fees as they see fit, based on their business judgment.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that Casiola has control over a significant aspect of revenue generation related to the booking and management system. While the franchisee operates the business, Casiola sets the fees that customers pay to use the system. It is important for a franchisee to understand how these fees are structured and how they might impact customer behavior and overall profitability. Franchisees should discuss with Casiola how these fees are determined and if franchisees have any input.
